Trainer Timoty Ritvo always knew he had a special filly on his hands. Megan’s World was purchased by Murray Smith for $100,000 as a yearling at Saratoga last August and she showed promise from the start, barely missing in two previous tries at Saratoga in July and August.
Sent off here as the favorite, Megan’s World broke on top from the 2nd post and kept a head in front as she travelled easily on the rail, jockey Cornelio Velasquez roused her leaving the turn and she quickly opened up 7 lengths on the field and kept nicely to her task to be home by 5 1/2 at the wire.
