Having already shown considerable promise on the dirt and synthetic tracks, Silver Reunion finally made it to the grass on Thursday, and the result could not have been more impressive. Having been slated to try the grass on two prior occasions only to have the races rained onto the main track, Silver Reunion, who is out of the G2 winning turfer Silver Comic (by Silver Hawk), stamped herself as one of the most exciting three-year-old turf fillies in the country with a dominating 3 1/2 length score that was never in doubt. Even more impressive was the fact that she finished the mile race in 1:34 flat, getting her final quarter in a nearly unheard of 21 4/5 despite setting all the race’s fractions. The remarkable effort was rewarded with a 101 Beyer Speed Figure, and has Silver Reunion now being pointed to major graded turf stakes by trainer Graham Motion.
Silver Reunion once again demonstrates both the tremendous ability and versatility that Harlan’s Holdiday is passing onto his runners. With his 1st crop just 4-year-olds, he already has a G1 winning synthetic horse in Into Mischief as well as a Kentucky Derby and Belmont stakes placed colt Denis of Cork on the dirt…just a few of his stallion crop leading 11 stakes winners.
