PANTY RAID, trained by top trainer Todd Pletcher was sent off at 5-2 as the second choice amid much hype after her recent performances at Keeneland and in Turfway’s Bourbonette Breeders’ Cup Stakes (G3) where she broke through the gate prior to the start but fininshed with a huge run in a photo for first place.
PANTY RAID broke well this time and was sent to the rail by Edgar Prado and saved ground through the half led by BARONESS THATCHER in fractions of 24.05 and 48.08. Kicked into gear leaving the turn PANTY RAID was momentarily blocked behind the pacesetter but eased out near the furlong marker and quickly drew past BARONESS THATCHER and extended her lead from WINNING POINT by 1 at the wire.
