Unbeaten and untested in his last four starts, Badge of Silver’s talented son Silver Max is making a convincing argument that he deserves the title of America’s top 3-year-old turf colt. Having blown away the competition in both Keeneland’s Grade III Transylvania S. and Churchill Down’s Grade II American Turf S in his previous two starts, Silver Max was made the heavy favorite to annex Arlington Park’s historic Arlington Classic- and he did not disappoint. Carving out an impressive opening quarter in 22 and change, Silver Max secured his customary spot on the lead and was never seriously threatened throughout the Arlington Park stretch. His impressive winning time of 1:41 4/5 for the 1 1/16M was good for a 112 Euibase Speed Figure and demonstrated that this talented colt is only getting better- a scary thought for his three-year-old turf rivals.
