MARK IT DOWN: PROUD CITIZEN’S MARK VALESKI ARRIVES AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE HANDICAP DIVISION

Regarded as a top class 3-year-old during a 2012 campaign that included a win in the historic Grade II Peter Pan Stakes, Mark Valeski looks poised to make an even bigger national statement in 2013. His perfromance in this past Saturday’s GIII Mineshaft Handicap at the Fair Grounds clearly established him as one of the top older horses in the country, as he overcame major traffic issues in the stretch to pull away from a top class field. The emphatic win comes only a few weeks removed from Believe You Can’s 10 1/4 length demolition of the Tiffany Lass Stakes in her 4-year-old debut- a performance that cemented her as one of the top older fillies in the nation. Both horses look to ensure that their sire, Proud Citizen, continues to be one of the industry’s hottest stallions for 2013.

Airdrie Stud thanks the incomperable team of the Larry Jones training stable for all their great work with these two Airdrie homebreds.
