Majesticperfection filly sharp in $100,000 Smart N Fancy S.

Chanteline just missed the track record in winning Sunday’s $100,000 Smart N Fancy S. at Saratoga, the third career stakes win for the 6-year-old daughter of Majesticperfection.

“She’s an amazing filly,” said winning rider Ricardo Santana Jr. “She ran really hard last time and didn’t really like the soft turf (second in the July 23 Carress S.). She’s improving every time. We had a lot of confidence in her today, and she ran when we asked.”

Sunday’s 5 1/2-furlong race was run on firm going. Away well from post 2, Chanteline settled comfortably in fourth, and when given her nod at the top of the stretch, stormed past Girls Know Best in mid-stretch to win by three lengths in 1:00.89, less than a half-second off the track record (VIDEO).

Chanteline has won stakes on both turf and dirt, and is now 8-7-3 in 25 starts with earnings of $524,972 for Ten Broeck Farm. Bred by Brereton C. Jones, Chanteline is out of Listen to Libby and is a half-sister to two-time stakes winner Kell Paso.

Majesticperfection, whose largest crop to date are 2-year-olds of 2018, is the sire of five stakes winners and 10 stakes horses overall this year.
