Multiple stakes winner Victress earned her first graded stakes win on Oct. 8 when the 5-year-old daughter of Include took the $100,000 Ballerina S. (G3) at Hastings Park by a neck [WATCH RACE].
All five of Victress’ lifetime wins have come in stakes. She has earned $209,603 for owners Robert and Victoria Gilker. Victress is one of Include’s six stakes winners this year that have accounted for eight stakes wins.
Breaking from post two in the seven-horse field, Victress took up her customary spot at the back of the pack. She trailed the field through the first six furlongs, then kicked into gear around the final bend, gobbling up the ground and blowing by Sailingforthesun in deep stretch to secure the win.
Victress’ record stands at 5-4-0 from 14 starts. She was bred in Kentucky by Judy Hicks and is one of five winners from six starters, including the graded stakes-placed filly Majestic Presence, out of the Victory Gallop mare Shining Victory.
