When the Tampa Downs Track announcer called Include Betty as being “25 lengths” behind the leaders of Saturday’s listed Suncoast Stakes, it would’ve been reasonable for a bettor holding a win ticket on her to have some regrets about his/her decision. But as it turns out- Include Betty had ’em right where she wanted ’em. Showcasing a tremendous turn of foot, the talented sophomore daughter of Include stormed into the turn with a jaw-dropping wide move and was able to sustain her incredible run to get to the wire first in her hugely impressive stakes debut. Include Betty had employed the same last-to-first strategy in her maiden win the race before, and it has now become clear that anyone holding a win ticket on this rising sophomore filly star need not worry about a perceived slow start. And like her running style, Include Betty may be quickly catching up to the top three-year-old fillies in America.
Thanks and congratulations to our partner and the great General Manager of Airdries Stud, Tim Thornton, to our co-breeder, the Lavin family of Lavin Bloodstock and to trainer Tom Proctor and his staff!
