Airdrie’s Haynesfield 7 FOR 7 With In-Foal Mares
Airdrie Stud’s first-crop stallion Haynesfield has successfully impregnated the first six mares to which he was bred, reported the farm on Thursday.
A son of leading sire Speightstown, Haynesfield most notably won the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup in 2010, a race in which he defeated eventual champion Blame by 4 lengths. The 2nd place finish would prove to be the only loss Blame suffered during his championship season. Haynesfield retired to stud for 2012 with lifetime earnings of more than $1.3 million and stakes wins at ages 2, 3, 4 and 5. His in-foal mares include 2010 juvenile stakes winner Soundwave as well as half-sisters to G1 winners
