HAYNESFIELD A PERFECT 7 FOR 7 WITH HIS FIRST IN-FOAL MARES

Airdrie’s Haynesfield 7 FOR 7 With In-Foal Mares

Airdrie Stud’s first-crop stallion Haynesfield has successfully impregnated the first six mares to which he was bred, reported the farm on Thursday.

A son of leading sire Speightstown, Haynesfield most notably won the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup in 2010, a race in which he defeated eventual champion Blame by 4 lengths.  The 2nd place finish would prove to be the only loss Blame suffered during his championship season.  Haynesfield retired to stud for 2012 with lifetime earnings of more than $1.3 million and stakes wins at ages 2, 3, 4 and 5.  His in-foal mares include 2010 juvenile stakes winner Soundwave as well as half-sisters to G1 winners Divine Park and Flemensfirth.

Haynesfield stands at Brereton Jones‘s Airdrie Stud for a fee of $10,000.  First-crop breeders are eligible for a $50,000 Breeder’s Reward if the resulting foal becomes a graded stakes winner at 2 or 3 years in the U.S. or Canada.  Any agent that books a mare that fulfills the same criteria is eligible for a $20,000 reward
