Skyler’s Scramjet, a striking gray 2-year-old son of Creative Cause, powered to a 3 3/4-length maiden special weight victory in his career debut Saturday at Aqueduct.
Creative Cause has been a top-five Freshman sire for most of 2016, and currently ranks fourth on the list with 15 winners. After breeding 125 mares this year (his largest number in his first three breeding seasons), Creative Cause will stand next year at Airdrie Stud for $15,000 live foal guaranteed.
After breaking alertly, Skyler’s Scramjet led the entire six furlongs, drawing clear in the final quarter-mile to get the distance in 1:11.03 (VIDEO).
The winner is owned by SJB Stable and Marcello Micozzi and was bred in Kentucky by Tommy Ligon and is out of the stakes-winning mare Abundantly Blessed, the dam of a pair of multiple stakes winners.
