Time Warp scored an eye-catching victory in a $75,000 maiden special weight affair for 2-year-old fillies Aug. 9 at Saratoga, drawing off to a 4 1/4-length win after an early speed duel (VIDEO).
Owned by Walking L Thoroughbreds, the gray or roan filly is the third winner by top-five First-Crop sire Cairo Prince, with all three winners coming in maiden special weight races.
Time Warp broke quickly and settled into second just a length behind Jot through the first quarter in :22.88 seconds. Around the turn, Time Warp cut into the lead and forged to the front at the top of the stretch. Jot hung in until a furlong to run, when Time Warp asserted herself to come home an authoritative winner.
Time Warp is the latest of six winners out of Two Hearts, whose dam Forty Nine Hearts is a sister to Belmont S. (G1) winner Editor’s Note. She was bred in New York by Joseph Picozzi and Saratoga Glen Farm LLC and sold to her owner for $230,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton New York Preferred Yearlings Sale at Saratoga.
