Top trainer Larry Jones looks to have added another weapon to his impressive 2008 arsenal with the two-turn unveilining of his Friends Lake 2-year-old colt Oconee Gold; a runaway 6-length winner at Delaware Park despite an horiffic start. Left in the gate and forced wide into the first turn, Oconee Gold made up ground with a decisive middle move and kept plenty in the tank to pull away through the stretch by a half dozen lengths. Following on the heels of Friends Lake’s graded stakes winning juvenile Screen Your Friend, Oconee Gold continues Friends Lake’s impressive beginning to his stud career.
