Every November, the thoroughbred market is anxious to see which first-crop stallions will make the strongest impressions at the Keeneland November sale. This year, no first-crop sire generated bigger buzz than Airdrie’s Majesticperfection. His 16 weanlings sold averaged an impressive $55,000 with a high of $145,000 and no weanlings selling for less than $20,000. His $55,000 average is nearly six-and-a-half times his 2013 stud fee, the highest ratio of any first-crop stallion in America.
Dubbed “The fastest horse I’ve ever seen” by champion trainer Steve Asmussen, Majesticperfection looks poised to follow in the succesful footsteps of his sire Harlan’s Holiday as a stallion force both in the sales ring and on the racetrack.
