Those fortunate enough to be in the large Keeneland crowd on Sunday got to see a filly that has the look of being something truly special. Undefeated Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Champion Lady Eli made her 3-year-old debut a memorable one as she effortlessly kicked away from Sunset Glow, a tremendously talented Grade 1 winner in her own right, in winning the Grade 3 Appalachian Stakes in a hand ride. The brilliant daughter of Divine Park will continue to point to the best grass stakes in the country for 3-year-old fillies and has the look of a horse that could maintain her unbeaten record for a very long time.
Lady Eli was not the only impressive Divine Park 3-year-old filly at Keeneland on Sunday, as Tommy Ligon and Mike Pressley’s talented filly Divine Dawn ran a very game 2nd in the Grade 2 $250,000 Adena Springs Beaumont Stakes. The Larry Jones trainee also appears to have a big 2015 ahead of her and is another example of the quality being sired by Airdrie’s Divine Park.
Congratulations to all the connections of Lady Eli and Divine Dawn!
