It’s early in the two-year-old season, but both Cosmic Evolution and her sire Proud Citizen have the look of horses set to have a big impact on the year’s final juvenile standings. Cosmic Evolution looks the part of a filly with a future, as she travelled wide throughout her stakes debut for legendary rail-skimmer Calvin Borel and won off impressively in Saturday’s closing day Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs. Likewise, Proud Citizen is poised for a big 2015 juvenile season as his two-year-olds are the result of a 143-strong book of mares, to be followed promptly in 2016 by the products of a 118 numbered book. Those kind of numbers, combined with the proven production of an Eclipse Champion sire, bode very well for the years to come for Airdrie’s two-time Kentucky Oaks sire Proud Citizen.
