Syndergaard carries Majesticperfection’s hopes for Breeders’ Cup

The brilliant colt Syndergaard will be the second Breeders’ Cup starter for his sire Majesticperfection in the Nov. 5 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Santa Anita Park.

Syndergaard has been nearly flawless in his three starts to date, easily winning a maiden special weight race before taking the $200,000 Funny Cide S. by more than 10 lengths. He followed that up with a gallant effort in the Champagne S. (G1), losing by just a nose after setting a very rapid pace.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Syndergaard was a $450,000 purchase at this year’s OBS April Sale of 2-year-olds in training. He has earned $263,800 to date.

The $2 million Juvenile, race 8, drew a field of 11 pre-entrants for the 1 1/16-mile contest. Official post positions for the Breeders’ Cup will be drawn on Oct. 31.
