A day after a $575,000 seller, Airdrie’s Second-Crop sire scored a $320,000 colt during Wednesday’s session of the April 25-28 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.
Hip No. 392 was consigned by Craig Wheeler, agent and was purchased by prominent trainer Linda Rice, who also was the high bidder on a $200,000 Creative Cause colt on Tuesday.
The dark bay colt Kentucky-bred is out of the Ghostzapper mare Endless Fancy, with a female family that includes prominent breed influence Miswaki, top sire Jump Start and the undefeated , Grade 1-winning 3-year-old colt Mastery.
With five lots sold during the first two days of the auction, Creative Cause’s average sale price stands at a hefty $234,400, more than 15 times his stud fee.
