A. P. Zona, a 3-year-old Creative Cause colt, made his first stakes start a winning one with a convincing four-length score in the $50,000 Province S. on May 22.
The dark bay colt is the third stakes winner this year for his sire, joining two-time black type winner Twisted Tom and the 3-year-old filly Nikki My Darling. Creative Cause ranks in the top-10 on the 2017 Second Crop Sire list by both stakes winners (3), stakes wins (4), and overall winners (19).
Owned by Peter Redekop B. C. Ltd., A. P. Zona has competed at five tracks in his nine career starts, chalking up three wins and earning $73,423.
Bred in Kentucky by Northwest Farms LLC, A. P. Zona’s dam A. P. Investment has produced three multiple winners from as many starters and is from the same female family as racing standouts Bedanken, Apolda and Ganges, all graded stakes winners.
