Samba Inc, a 2-year-old southern hemisphere Include filly, was stellar in her Grade 1 debut on May 25 at San Isidro Racetrack in Argentina, capturing the Gran Premio de Portrancas (G1) by seven lengths under a hand ride.
The victory was the second graded win for the bay filly, coming on the heels of her win in the Gran Premio de Eliseo Ramirez (G2) over the same turf course. She has now won three of four starts, with one second.
In the lead the entire way in the 1,600 meter (about one mile) race, Samba Inc was pushed early, then drew off in the stretch in the one-turn event to win handily over a turf course labeled “heavy” from recent rains.
“This is a very good filly with a huge future,” said trainer José Lofiego.
Samba Inc was bred in Argentina by Haras La Biznaga and is out of the Bernstein mare Stormy Sacra (ARG).
Samba Inc is Include’s 11th Grade/Group 1 winner, joining illustrious runners such as champions Sociologa Inc and Ferox, as well as millionaire Panty Raid.
