Significant Form kicks off 2018 with big win in Memories of Silver S.

Leading Second-Crop Sire Creative Cause added his latest 2018 stakes winner on April 22 when Significant Form rolled to a 6 1/4-length score in the $100,000 Memories of Silver S. on the Aqueduct turf course.

Significant Form was making her first start of the year in Sunday’s 1 1/16-mile affair for 3-year-old fillies. In three outings last year, she won her maiden debut at Saratoga, took the Miss Grillo S. (G3) at Belmont, then was a close fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).

Working over the past weeks at Palm Meadows for trainer Chad Brown, Significant Form was quickest out of the gate and settled nicely for Irad Ortiz, Jr. After a half-mile in :48 3/5, Significant Form began to pull away from the field without urging from Ortiz and came under the wire in 1:40.85, just a second off the track record.

“She’s a horse we’ve rested all winter and we’re looking forward to getting her back,” said Brown. “She’s filled out. She’s a little bigger and stronger this year. The time out suited her well. She’s a more mature horse and this is a good starting point.”

Significant Form has won three of her four starts and earned Stephanie Seymour Brant. The winner was bred by Brereton C. Jones and is the second foal out of Church by the Sea, whose first foal won the Commonwealth Turf (G3) at Churchill Downs. Significant Form sold for $575,000 at the 2017 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.

Creative Cause’s excellent 2018 crop includes My Boy Jack, a two-time graded stakes winner this year who makes his next start in the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Tom Fool H. (G3) winner Skyler’s Scramjet.
