The winners keep coming for Cairo Prince – the latest on Aug. 22 at Presque Isle downs when Landofthepharaohs tallied a 3 1/4-length maiden special weight win at six furlongs (VIDEO).
The 2-year-old colt is third winner for his sire in the past five days. With seven winners overall, Cairo Prince ranks second on the First-Crop Sire list, and is third by progeny earnings with more than $325,000.
Between horses in a three-way duel for the lead, Landofthepharaohs put his head in front for good soon after the first quarter-mile. Despite the hot early pace of :22.77, he drew off very impressively to wrap up the six furlongs in 1:11.69.
Owned by Carl Hess, Jr. and bred in Kentucky by Mr. & Mrs. Richard Elam, Landofthepharaohs is from the same family as Grade 1 winners Mashaallah and Folk Art.
