Shes the Cause takes $100K City of Anderson in stakes debut

Shes the Cause won her stakes debut and broke her maiden on Sept. 11 when the 2-year-old Creative Cause filly finished with a  strong kick to win the $100,000 City of Anderson S. by a head.

Making just her second lifetime start after a second in her Aug. 16 career bow, the chestnut filly was unhurried early before commencing a four-wide move at the top of the stretch. She closed the gap the rest of the way to get past Lady Ally in deep stretch and win the six-furlong contest by a head.

The winner is campaigned by her breeder Ronald Saunders. Her dam Scarlet Bulletin has also produced the stakes winner Shes Dangerous and stakes-placed Shes Into Mischief.

Creative Cause recently surpassed $14 million in career progeny earnings and is in the top 10 on the 2019 Fourth-Crop Sire list in several categories, including black type horses, winners, and progeny earnings.
