American Freedom had an excellent start to the juvenile sales season Tuesday at the OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale when a filly brought a top bid of $160,000.
The First-Crop sire finished the day with an average price of $95,000, nearly 16 times his 2021 stud fee of $6,000.
His top seller, hip No. 41, was consigned by Brandon and Ali Rice’s Ricehorse Stable, agent and purchased by leading Japanese buyer Hideyuki Mori.
The dark bay filly is out of Lakefront and is a half-sister to stakes winner Dattts Our Girl. Her second dam is four-time Grade 1 winner Lakeway, who is also the granddam of Spinster S. (G1) winner Mushka.
American Freedom has five lots scheduled to sell during Wednesday closing session of the sale.
