American Freedom’s hip No. 1215 was the last lot through the ring at the April 20-23 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds, and his connections were rewarded with a top bid of $200,000 from Karl & Kathi Glassman.
Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, the dark bay had breezed a furlong in :10 1/5-seconds at last week’s Under Tack Show. The Kentucky-bred is out of the stakes winner Our Pure Creation.
American Freedom ranks in the top 10 among First-Crop sires by 2-year-old sales average, at $118,368, nearly 12 times his current stud fee. The Airdrie stallion has already had his first winner when first-time starter American Bound captured a maiden special weight on April 2 at Keeneland. American Bound will make his next start in the $150,000 Kentucky Juvenile S. on April 28 at Churchill Downs.
