American Freedom got his third winner of the past eight days Friday at Gulfstream Park when Rosy Apple sprinted to a 3 1/2-length victory.
American Freedom now has eight winners from his first crop of runners, trailing only Gun Runner with North American winners by Freshman Sires.
Rosy Apple led gate-to-wire in the 6 1/2-furlong race for 2-year-old fillies. Freccia d’Argento applied some pressure for three furlongs before Rosy Apple shook clear to win comfortably.
The winner is owned by Monarch Stables Inc. and was bred in Kentucky by Tim and Reggie Beeson.
American Freedom has 92 named 2-year-olds this year. He will have several opportunities over the weekend to increase his winners’ total, as well as get his first stakes winner with American Sanctuary in the $100,000 Prairie Gold Juvenile S. on Saturday.
