The first yearlings by Grade 1 winner Collected yielded excellent returns during the first week of the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling sale, with a pair of juveniles fetching $200,000, more than 11 times his stud fee.
First through the ring on Tuesday was hip No. 317, consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency and purchased by the partnership of Whitehorse, Madaket Stables, and E Five Racing. The chestnut colt is out of the Street Cry (IRE) mare Coronation Street, who is a daughter of Top Flight H. (G2) winner Sara Louise.
During Thursday’s session hip No. 881, a filly consigned by Airdrie Stud went to Muir Hut Stables. The Kentucky-bred is out of the top-class mare Silver Reunion, winner of the Endeavour S. (G3). All six of Silver Reunion’s foals to race are winners, led by Speaktomeofsummer (by Summer Front), who won the 2020 Lake Placid S. (G2), and the stakes winner Proud Reunion. The subject filly’s second dam is Mrs. Revere S. (G2) winner Silver Comic.
Collected won nearly $3 million in his career, with five graded stakes wins, highlighted by his defeat of Arrogate in the Pacific Classic (G1). A son of noted sire City Zip, Collected has bred more than 400 mares combined in his first three seasons at stud.
