Godolphin’s impressive winner of the Champagne Stakes in 2002, Almushahar, is pointed toward the June 7th Vodafone Derby at Epsom Downs.
As a two-year-old, this bay son of Silver Hawk was the favorite to win the Group2 Rothmans Royals Champagne Stakes at Doncaster. When he stormed home for the comfortable win, his trainer David Loder compared him to Dubai Millenium because of the excitement he elicits as well as his pedigree.
