On March 25th at the Fasig-Tipton Sale at Grand Prairie, Texas of 2yos in training, an Indian Charlie colt (“Bwana Charlie” out of the Halo mare, Shahalo) topped the sale at $240,000! He was consigned as Hip #129 by Safari Bloodstock and purchased by Ted Keefer as agent for William Heiligbrodt.
Bwana Charlie worked 1/4 mile in 21.2 at the breeze show.
Steve Asmussen will condition the bay colt at Lone Star Park initially with plans to race him in Kentucky.
Last week at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales, 2yos by Indian Charlie also sold well – – Hip # 78 out of Sultry Peg Cee sold for $120,000 to Scott Lake and a filly, Hip #340 out of Hustleeta, sold for $230,000 to Fleetwood/N.W. Management. Both worked in 21.2 at the 2nd breeze show prior to the sale.
