MUBTAKER repeated last year’s win in this race in the same manner against similar rivals. It is therefore no surprise that the winner’s connections are eyeing Group 1 company and among the possible choices are the Arc, the Melbourne Cup or the Irish St. Leger.
Mubtaker settled off the strong pace holding to the heels of front runner Systematic, he quickened to the front passing the 3-furlong marker before stretching clear for an emphatic 3 1/2 length victory.
Congratulations to trainer Marcus Tregoning and owner Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum for their continued faith in this horse who has been plagued by injuries over his five year career.
