MUD SHARK, a previous winner at Santa Anita for Bob Baffert was three deep into the first turn, made a late bid to catch Touch the Wire and finished second for owners Jacobs and Peagram.  MUDSHARK was a $130,000 Keeneland September yearling; he is out of Sugar is Gold by Slew O’ Gold and was bred in Florida by Sally J. Anderson.

On the same day at Charlestown, COMMAND RESPECT broke his maiden in his third start winning wire to wire over 4 1/2 f. in a $21,700 MSW for trainer Dale Capuano and Fortunate Stable.

On to Laurel Park where Friday, SIMPLE AFFAIR WON a $25,000 MSW at 1 1/16 miles.  After going wide in the far turn; she angled to the rail and caught the leader to win!  SIMPLE AFFAIR was a $90,000 Keeneland September sales yearling.
