Piloted to second place

Jan. 3-Santa Anita Park, $47,000 MSW, 7f.
STORM PILOT went off as the favorite in his debut
for Marsha Naify and trainer Bruce Headley. STORM PILOT broke badly and was ten lengths back; then moved to the inside and gained ground in the stretch but could not quite catch the winner. Trainer Bruce Headley commented that for sure this colt would have smashed the track record if he had not broken in the air at the start. STORM PILOT is out of the mare, Fast and Early by Carson City; he was a $325,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky sales yearling and was bred by Brereton C. Jones. He is a half-brother to MSW Sharp Impact(Siphon (BRZ)).
