YANKEE VICTOR GETS 10TH 2YO WINNER!

YANKEE VICTOR two-year-olds continue to show promise racing in top company at major tracks coast-to-coast.

His 10th two-year-old winner came at Santa Anita on Oct 24th in a seven furlong MSW when NORTHERN MISCHIEF (a $145,000 Kee Sep yrlg, $160,000 Barretts 2YO) challenged the lead turning for home, lost it again a furlong out but fought back gamely to win by two widening lengths at the wire.
Jockey Gary Stevens said “She’s a real classy filly”.

A REAL DANDY AT KEENELAND
On the first Saturday of the Keeneland Fall meet trainer Steve Asmussen sent out his 2YO Yankee Victor colt, REAL DANDY in a tough maiden race pitted against $3.3 million Pulpit colt, Chekhov.
Real Dandy had been runner up in his last 3 starts all going a mile at Arlington and was sent to the post here as the second choice at 7-2.  He broke promptly and contested the pace through the first half – during his head-to-head dual with Fan of the Cat he was headed briefly at the top of the stretch – but with increasing traffic on the turn home he switched gears impressively and pulled away to defeat even money favorite Chekhov by 4 1/2 lengths, racing the last 16th of a mile in :5 4/5.
