WANNABEINCLUDED was sent off the heavy favorite, making his third start for Owner Clifford Grum with new trainer Cecil Borel. The dark bay colt had two previous outings at Churchill but was troubled during both trips to finish 3rd and 4th. Breaking from the 5 post he had to steady at the start and raced well back through the half. Making a confident move turning for home, he quickly reached the leaders and drew clear, passing the wire still with gas in the tank, 5 lengths ahead of the next rival. He went 5 furlongs in :59.3, 6 furlongs in 1:11.3, and, according to the clocker worked out 7 furlongs in 1:24.4
