Two-year-old filly NEW YORK CITY GIRL, by Forest Camp out of the Ocean Crest mare Silk Sails wins a stake for Todd Pletcher in her second start on a rainy day at Monmouth Park. New York City Girl had a wire-to-wire victory in her first outing here in mid June and was the second choice in a field shortened by the downpour. She pressed the pace just off the outside of Rubies R Forever through fractions of :21.4 and :45.1 then moved authoritatively to the lead in upper stretch and cruised home for an easy win.
