TWICE BLESSED: INDIAN CHARLIE’S OAKS AND DERBY PROSPECTS BLOSSOM!

$100,000 Hallendale Beach S
Gulfstream Park

The Hallendale Beach Stakes was supposed to be a coronation for the Todd Pletcher trained Cowboy Cal, long viewed as one of the best 3yos in the country…instead, it was Pletcher’s OTHER 3-year-old, Why Tonto, that stole the show.  Highly regarded since early in his 2yo year, the son of Indian Charlie looks to have truly come of age as he raced alongside his highly regarded stablemate before pulling away in the stretch fo an ultra-impressive win.  While his next start is still in question, there is no doubt that Why Tonto is heading towards being a very special 3-year-old.  Congratulations to all his winning connections!

GIII $200,000 Silverbulletday S.
Fair Grounds  1 1/16m

Another race…another sensational performance by champion Indian Blessing.  Though well tested by Proud Citizen’s top class daughter Proud Spell through the Fair Grounds stretch, Indian Charlie’s brilliant filly ran her record to a perfect 5 for 5 in taking the graded Silverbulletday.  Now 2 for 2 on the year and viewed as the favorite for the GI Kentucky Oaks, Indian Blessing represents the biggest name but is just one of several Indian Charlie 3yo’s that are drawing national attention.  Congratulations to all her championship connections!
