A PROUD NIGHT FOR AIRDRIE STUD- TWO ECLIPSE WINNERS SIRED BY AIRDRIE STALLIONS

On a truly special night for Airdrie Stud, two Airdrie sired horses took home the sports’ greatest honors when crowned Eclipse champions.  Indian Blessing, the brilliant daughter of Indian Charlie started Airdrie’s celebration when named America’s champion sprint filly- her second lifetime Eclipse Award after garnering champion juvenile filly last year.  Airdrie would like to congratulate her well deserving connections, the Earnhardt family and trainer Bob Baffert.
Not long thereafter, Airdrie received the thrill of a lifetime when our homebred filly, Proud Spell, was named America’s champion 3-year-old filly of 2008.  Winner of this year’s GI Kentucky Oaks and the GI Alabama Stakes, the daughter of Proud Citizen won the award despite the presence of some truly special fillies in the 3-year-old ranks this year, led by Indian Blessing, Music Note and the brilliant Eight Belles.  Airdrie would like to congratulate all the hard working individuals that make up our Airdrie team, and send our deepest appreciation to the entire Larry Jones racing team- Larry, Cindi, Corey, Michael and all those who have been so instrumental in our fily’s career.  We would also like to thank jockey Gabriel Saez for his brilliant work atop our filly as the only rider to ever ride Proud Spell in the afternoon.  Thank you as well to all the breeders who have contributed to the overwhelming success of the Airdrie stallions…we are eternally grateful.
