MOTOVATO’S DOMINANT STAKES WIN LENGTHENS PROUD CITIZEN’S LEAD AS THE NATION’S #1 THIRD CROP SIRE

Primal Stakes (L)
Calder Racecourse  1 1/8m

Staking his claim as Florida’s top older horse in training, the Marty Wolfson trained Motovato was sparkling in his most recent effort, a thoroughly dominant 5 3/4 length win in Saturday’s Primal Stakes at Calder.  Bet down to 2-5 despite the presence of seasoned stakes performers, Motovato ended all suspense early with an authoritative move in the turn and only lengthened his advantage through the stretch.  Now being pointed to some of the nation’s top graded stakes for older horses, Motovato is poised to take his place as a major player on the national older horses scene.  Motovato’s sire, Proud Citizen, has once again added to his lead as the Nation’s #1 ranked 3rd crop sire, now with more than $7.4 million in earnings.

Congratulations to all Motovato’s connections, owners Edmund Gann and Michel Zerolo, breeders Elizabeth Jones and Brownell Alexander and trainer Marty Wolfson!
