GI $250,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Hcp.
6 Furlongs, Saratoga.
While the argument could have been made that Padua Stables’ Majesticperfection was the nation’s fastest sprinter exiting his last-out, track record setting performance at Prairie Meadows when earning the year’s highest sprinting Beyer figure, the supremely talented son of Harlan’s Holiday has seemingly eliminated all doubts in the wake of his devastating GI Vanderbilt score on Sunday. Though facing a group that included Grade 1 heroes Bribon (FR) and Gayego as well as the highly touted Big Drama, Majesticperfection was never challenged in a remarkable hand ridden, wire-to-wire score. His fifth win in a row, Majesticperfection stopped the clock in 1:08 3/5 for the six furlong fixture, just 3/5ths off the track record and good for an astounding 115 Beyer Speed Figure. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the 2010 Sprinter Eclipse award appears to be his to lose.
A $370,000 OBS sale horse, Majesticperfection is the perfect embodiment of Harlan’s Holiday’s ability to produce a big horse in both the sales ring and on the racetrack.
Congratulations and best to of luck to owner Padua Stables and breeders Ron McPeek and Shane Floyd!
