MAJOR BREEDER’S CUP MO-MENTUM: INDIAN CHARLIE’S UNCLE MO DOMINATES THE GI CHAMPAGNE STAKES

GI $300,000 Champagne Stakes
Belmont Park 1M  1:34 2/5

While it took only a single maiden win in his first start to annoint Uncle Mo as Mike Watchmaker’s top 2-year-old colt in training, his second victory, a dominant 4 3/4 length dismantling of the GI Champagne field on Saturday, validated the son of Indian Charlie as racing’s newest superstar.  Despite having to carve out fast fractions early while being tested on the lead, Uncle Mo did not allow for an anxious moment through the stretch as he remained comfortably in control throughout.  The logical favorite for the $2,000,000 Breeder’s Cup Juvenile, Uncle Mo will take his unbeaten record to Churchill Downs to cement his title of America’s best 2-year-old.

Congratulations and best of luck to owner Repole Stables, breeder Dr. D. Michael Cavey and trainer Todd Pletcher.
