‘SILVER HAS A GOLDEN WEEKEND: BADGE OF SILVER ENDS 2010 WITH A STAKES WINNER- BEGINS 2011 WITH A DERBY WINNER

In a weekend that established him as one of the hottest freshman stallions in North America, Badge of Silver closed out 2010 in spectacular style when his son Silver Medallion took the year’s last juvenile stakes in winning Santa Anita’s New Year’s Eve Eddie Logan Stakes.  The next day, Badge of Silver sent a clear message that 2011 could prove to be a special year for his offspring when his son King Congie took the nation’s first derby with a going away win in the GIII Tropical Park Derby.  These two performances came on the heels of his ultra-impressive MSW winner Pride of Silver’s effortless victory at Santa Anita that now has him pointed towards the GIII Sham Stakes at that track on January 15th.

All three of these performance came at two turns and showcase three horses that are improving markedly with age and added distance…all of which are good indicators that Badge of Silver could be sitting on a very BIG 2011.
