ADIOS AMIGOS: INDIAN CHARLIE’S ADIOS CHARLIE LEAVES THE FIELD BEHIND IN THE GII JEROME

Grade II Jerome Stakes
Aqueduct   1m

It has become commonplace over the last few months for an Indian Charlie colt to make a splash on the 3-year-old scene.  Of course, Uncle Moe has been atop his division almost literally since he crossed the wire a Saratoga maiden winner, but graded stakes winner Anthony’s Cross and Indian Winter have also kept Indian Charlie’s name at the forefront of any discussion of the nation’s hottest sires.  Saturday illuminated yet another sophomore star when the Stanley Hough trained Adios Charlie defeated a very strong field in taking the GII Jerome Stakes at Aqueduct.  Ambitiously placed in this spot, having just broken his maiden at Gulfstream in his previous outing, Adios Charlie ended up winning by a comfortable 2 1/2 lengths under a patient ride from jockey Rajiv Marah.  A true star in the making, Adios Charlie stands as one of the sophomore crop’s fastest risers, as it becomes increasingly clear that the Indian Charlie 3-year-old colts are a very special group.

Congratulations to all the connections of this ultra-impressive colt!
