Trained by Doug O’Neill RUNSTEVIERUN won going away in the C.B Afflerbaugh Stakes in a speedy 7 furlongs at Fairplex on 9/14/11. “The win validated all of our feelings about him since day one,” O’Neill said of the bay colt. “..This colt is special, he has a really great mind.”
Another recent exclamation mark came when his talented daughter, Katie Get Excited, won off in stylish fashion in a $67,000 MSW at Woodbine. It was no surprise to see her find the winner’s circle as early and impressively as she did, as she had first made headlines by working the fastest eighth of a mile at the illustrious Fasig-Tipton 2-year-old sale at Palm Meadows.
In addition to Katie Get Excited, Stevie Wonderboy is also represented by Spiritowonderboy, a 10 length maiden winner in Europe, by Meiner Etranger a winner in Japan, and by 3 and 3/4 length Calder maiden winner Starship Flare as well as Del Mar maiden winner Sunny Superstition; aptly trained by his former conditioner Doug O’Neil.
