SILVER GETS THE GOLD: BADGE OF SILVER’S SILVER MEDALLION TAKES THE GRADE III TROPICAL TURF HANDICAP

In a preview of what could be a big 2012 season for the talented son of Badge of Silver, the Todd Pletcher trained Silver Medallion easily captured Friday’s Grade III Tropical Turf Handicap at Calder.  Rating comfortably throughout, Silver Medallion made his move at the top of the stretch and was unthreatened throughout the drive, coming home in a swift 11 and 4/5ths for his final furlong.  Already a graded stakes winner over a synthetic course, this graded score on the grass offers further evidence of the versatility that Badge of Silver is instilling within his offspring.  With this win coming just weeks after his South American sensation Fly Lexis Fly stamped his ticket to the U.S with a 10-length Grade 1 Derby score, Badge of Silver continues to be one of the nation’s hottest 2nd crop sires.

Congratulations to all the connections of this talented Airdrie Stud bred!
