In 2008, the Airdrie Stud team thought we had achieved a once-in-a-lifetime moment when we were fortunate enough to win the Grade I Kentucky Oaks with our Proud Citizen filly Proud Spell. However, Proud Citizen and the Larry Jones team, as well as the great Rosie Napravenik, have given the farm our SECOND once-in-a-lifetime moment. Believe You Can’s impressive win in Friday’s Kentucky Oaks was the second winner for both Airdrie and Proud Citizen, a truly incredible feat for a young sire. Facing one of the deepest and most contentious Oaks fields in recent memory, Believe You Can shot to the top of the three year-old filly division with an impressive, going away score. Her victory adds further momentum to Proud Citizen’s banner 2012, as he is now in the Top 5 on the U.S stallion’s General Sire List.
