The highlights came late during Tuesday’s opening session of the OBS March Sale of 2-year-olds in Training for First-crop sire Upstart, with a $200,000 colt for the Airdrie stallion.
The colt, hip No. 300, was consigned by Brick City Thoroughbreds and was purchased by Narvick International. Out of the multiple stakes winner Out of Goodbyes, the bay juvenile is from the family of multiple graded horse No Parole.
Earlier in the session, Upstart’s hip No. 85, consigned by Pick View LLC, went to Team Casse for $170,000. The colt is out of a full brother to Grade 1 winner E Z’s Gentleman.
Upstart, whose first crop of more than 100 2-year-olds will race this year, has eight additional lots in Wednesday’s closing session of the sale.
